One of the greatest advantages of choosing a small school is that your child is never just another face in the crowd. At Olivet School, every student is known, valued, and cared for by our entire staff. We believe that building strong relationships with families is just as important as providing an excellent education, and open communication is at the heart of those relationships.
From your child’s first day, you’ll discover that our teachers, office staff, administration, and support team are approachable, responsive, and genuinely invested in your family’s experience. Whether you have a quick question or need support with a larger concern, there is always someone ready to help.
Keeping Parents Informed
We know that parents feel most confident when they know what is happening at school. That’s why communication is a priority at Olivet.
If something important happens during your child’s school day, our teachers will contact you promptly. Depending on the situation, you may receive an email or phone call right away, or your child’s teacher may speak with you personally at pick-up. We believe that honest, timely communication helps build trust between home and school.
Our teachers also strive to respond to emails quickly, making it easy to ask questions or discuss your child’s progress throughout the year.
Support Beyond the Classroom
Not every question is about academics. Sometimes you need help with practical matters such as:
- Billing and tuition questions
- After-school care inquiries
- School forms
- Updating family or emergency contact information
Our office is always happy to assist. Simply give us a call or send an email, and we’ll make sure your question reaches the right person.
Our Marketing and Outreach Coordinator is also available to answer questions about admissions, school events, registration, or life at Olivet. You’ll often find her chatting with families on the playground after school, making it easy for both current and prospective parents to ask questions in a relaxed setting.
A Community That Supports One Another
One of the things families often notice first about Olivet School is our welcoming community.
Parents regularly spend time together after school while their children play, creating natural opportunities to build friendships, ask questions, and support one another. New families quickly discover they are joining more than a school—they are becoming part of a caring community.
Caring for the Whole Family
Life sometimes brings unexpected challenges. Whether your family is experiencing a loss, navigating a difficult season, or simply needs someone to talk to, we want you to know you are not alone.
Our school minister, Rev. Todd Beiswenger, is available to provide pastoral care and support for students and families whenever it is needed. Sometimes having someone who will simply listen can make all the difference.
At Olivet School, we care about the wellbeing of the whole family—not just what happens inside the classroom.
Staying Connected Throughout the Year
Communication doesn’t stop when the school day ends.
Families receive regular weekly newsletters highlighting classroom activities, upcoming events, important dates, and school news. Additional email announcements are sent whenever reminders or time-sensitive information arise, helping everyone stay informed.
We also love celebrating the learning happening throughout our classrooms. Through our social media channels (with parent permission), families can enjoy photos and stories that showcase classroom activities, field trips, hands-on learning, performances, and the everyday moments that make school life so special.
These glimpses into your child’s day often become wonderful conversation starters at home.
We’re Here for You
At Olivet School, communication is more than simply sharing information—it’s about building lasting partnerships with families. We want every parent to feel comfortable reaching out, asking questions, sharing concerns, and celebrating successes alongside us.
Our goal is for every family to feel supported, informed, and connected throughout the school year.
We look forward to partnering with your family and wish you an amazing year at Olivet School!
