Music

3 girls playing Orff musical instruments

Olivet School’s music program starts in kindergarten and lays a solid foundation of delight as well as competency.

Olivet School students receive an inspiring, creative, and thorough background in music. We begin with basic songs, rhymes, movement, and games along with percussion instruments at the younger levels, and work towards reading, writing, and performing music on a range of Orff instruments and recorders.

Five times during the school year, all students take part in school concerts— a highlight for parents and extended families.

As a way of expressing our gratitude for their ongoing support, we perform three choir performances for the Olivet Church (which the school shares a location with) on select Sundays throughout the school year. The congregation warmly supports our students and always looks forward to their performances.

At Christmas, students take part in our annual concert, which blends traditional carols with other themed pieces. This festive event gives them a wonderful opportunity to showcase their musical talents.

In the spring, students participate in our Spring Music Night, the final performance of the year. This themed presentation showcases both their singing and instrumental abilities.
